W00t! I almost bought one (octopus) for the salt water reef tank I had in my basement. However, they are notoriously well known for escaping (you pretty much need to nail down the lid of the tank) - plus, because it's such a small space, if they freak and ink your tank, it's pretty much a guarantee it will kill everything else in there. Not much incentive. But they are *very* smart for cephalopods and they can see in color. :)
(They can learn to open jars underwater by unscrewing the lids to get what's inside.)
Yeah--I think they pull escape acts out of sheer boredom half the time, and I can't blame the little guys. Being stuck in a tank has got to be a drag for something that clever.
